End of revitalisation works at L'UNI

POWRÓT

The revitalisation work carried out at the modern L'UNI office building in the heart of Wrocław is coming to an end. The investment is being carried out in the neo-Renaissance building of the former Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Wrocław. The building has been completely modernised and finished to the highest standard. The first tenants will move into L'UNI as early as autumn.

"We are extremely pleased to announce that construction work on the exterior and interior of L'UNI is now nearing completion. The common spaces are already being finished. The installation of sanitary and electrical installations has been completed. The lifts are ready. Tests and technical acceptance are currently being carried out. Work is also well advanced on the outside of the building. The body of the building already has its final appearance. The plasterwork has been laid, and the historic elements, such as the bust sculptures on top of the pilasters, have been restored. Now the area around L'UNI is being cleaned and landscaped." says Waldemar Weintritt, Project Engineer at JP Weber, a consultancy firm which is providing investment supervision for L'UNI.

L'UNI owes its unique character to a combination of historic elements and modern architectural thought. Noteworthy is the glazed roof, which was covered with a ceramic print. The investor decided to apply such a solution in order to emphasise the unique character of the investment. It is worth mentioning that the only reference building in which ceramic gradient printing technology has been used is in London. Thanks to the glazing, the upper storey will offer a panoramic view of University Bridges, Tamka Street and Słodowa Island.

"Wrocław is the second city after Kraków with the largest office stock, which at the end of June 2022 stood at 1.28 million sqm. Given the limited availability of plots and facilities in the most attractive parts of the city, we appreciate the potential of L'UNI all the more. We knew from the beginning that this was an exceptional project, and subsequent tenants confirm this. L'UNI combines the strengths of a super modern office building and a historic building." - comments Anna Patrzyk-Sperzyńska, Associate Director at Knight Frank.

L'UNI was created in the former building of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Academy of Medicine. The building's name refers to the French word "L'Université", which is inextricably linked to the history of the site. Located in the Old Town area, next to the main building of the University of Wrocław, this Neo-Renaissance building from 1866 offers a unique view of the Oder River. The revitalisation of the building started in mid-2020 and was carried out under the watchful eye of the conservation officer. The completion date is scheduled for autumn 2022. Both the investor and the studio responsible for the project, "Maćków Pracownia Projektowa", were keen to restore the building to its former glory and combine historical architecture with modern solutions. The office building offers approximately 3,600 sq m of office space.
